More post-Starwood

I've wanted to write more reports from Starwood, but last week was so busy it seemed like there was no spare time for blogging. I just got back from a whirlwind weekend in the big city, where we traveled to celebrate a friend's birthday. The heat there is already shocking, and it stands to get worse this week. Even in luscious upstate, where I live, and where it never gets higher than the low 90s - and rarely that - the forecast calls for 105 degrees midweek. Heat seems to be the news from everywhere. If only I knew Gaia were safe, I wouldn't be so miserable about it.

When I return from Starwood, I always feel more connected spiritually, and these days I've just been feeling so happy to be a Pagan. I'm a big geek. I've been rereading Wild Witchcraft by Marian Green. I've been thinking a lot about spell-casting since Deb's workshop (more on that later). I've also been thinking a lot about my tattoo (which doesn't yet exist). My awesome alterna-nutritionist isn't in favor of tattoos; she believes scars disrupt the body's electrical systems. Drat. I may get one anyway. Now I'm thinking maybe a triple moon. And I want a piece of jewelry I can wear daily to symbolize my faith. For now, a pentacle is out; I'm looking for something more subtle.

I can't match a face with your blog. Can you describe any questions you asked or spells you shared? It's like an unscratchable itch!

interrupt the body's electrical system? Get the tattoo Inanna-san, because your alterna-nutritionist maybe awesome buuuut also a little flaky (and I mean that in a nice way) Ink doesn't penetrate down far enough to interfer with nervous system. Besides, I'm missing one internal organ and had surgery on my liver and I'm just tickety-boo-- and that's 1000x times worse than gettin' ink done. ;)

Deb - I thought about introducing myself to you, but I wasn't sure you read my blog, and I'm a bit shy. I was there for only the second workshop (I'm sorry, but there's so much good stuff, I never go to a whole series); you liked my glasses. If I think of it, I'll email a photo after work.

Sonja - It's the scar, not the ink (although she's wary of the ink too, not being sure of its effects). She does kinesiology. She didn't find any ill effects from the scar on my lower back where I had surgery on my spine a year and a half ago (!); the surgeon did a great job sewing me back up. However, on my right arm, where I had a mole removed years ago, and the dermatologist did a rotten job, there is a problem, and she has me rubbing really high quality wheat-germ oil into it twice a day. If I get a tattoo, she'll just have me rubbing oil into that, too.

I don't know if she's right about this. As a student of energy medicine, I don't immediately dismiss claims like hers. Also, the other stuff she's doing for me, much of which is unorthodox, is working wonders.

All that said, I'll probably get the tattoo as soon as I can decide what I'm doing and find the right artist. :)

aaaaaand what's wrong with oil rubbin'? ;) I guess I may be bias; I love tattoos \m/

I remember the glasses; yellow plastic frames with a pattern, right?

Nothin' wrong with oil rubbin', S.

Yep, Deb, you got it. They're actually an amber/tortoise and white checkerboard pattern. And for those who haven't seen them - they sound very Elton John, but they're not. I love them.

well I consulted with Trynn and he agrees with you and your nutritionalist about changing of the body's electrical system. He says that's exactly why he /does/ get tattoos. He says they're totems and he uses them to redirect the energy in his body. Interesting!

I really love the jewelry by K Robbins: http://www.krobinsdesigns.com/bio.htm

I have The Healer (on the Mothers & Daughters page) and wear it with pride in public and Pagan situations. Someday, I would like to own about half of her collection...
